It all started back in 1999, in the suburban Vienna backwater of Aspern, where Josy Coyote and Robert Unbelieveable got together to make some outrageous masterpieces of rock 'n' roll.
Josy's musical tastes run to seminal rock and punk bands - AC/DC,
Rose Tattoo, the Ramones - while Robert worships the gods of 80s hair
metal, like Bon Jovi, Poison, and Warrant. With Robert on lead guitar
and Josy playing rhythm, the two would create a dirty, rotten sound
of their own. The results were hard-charging Los
Deepest classics like "Will Rock for Food" and "Full
Time RockaRolla", still part of their live set.
In a
stinking hole in Aspern, reeking of sweat, beer and smoke, LOS
DEEPEST was born. With Freedl Kastro (dr),DeeDee (v) and Johnny
MacGyver (b) LOS DEEPEST was complete and ready to make its live
debut on May 12th, 2001.
Almost from the start Austria's disaffected youth were turned on to Dee Dee's rough vocal stylings, Freedl's driving rhythms melded with Johnny's pounding bass, Robert's melodic licks underlayed by Josy's uncouth rnr-riffing. After DeeDee,Freedl and Johnny MacGyver decided to leave the band, they were replaced by the divine Johnny Roulette, who sings and plays bass as well and Maurits Otte came in on drums.
The band's live reputation continued to grow, with LOS DEEPEST
sharing the stage with bands like Rose Tattoo, Backyard Babies,
Gluecifer, Nashville Pussy, Hanoi Rocks, Skew Siskin - just to name a
few.
A few months later the band recorded a few songs to release a
5 track EP ("The First Cuts Are The Deepest") and a
split-CD with "The Rycojets" ( "Everything You Ever
Wanted To Know About Rock N Roll" ).
Rather than be at the mercy of jaded studio techs and producers, LOS DEEPEST recorded their first full-length album "Pocket Full Of Nothing" and it´s follow up "How Low Can You Go?" in their own sound studio - read a few reviews below...
After a tour all over Austria with Vienna´s Alkbottle in December 2007, the band is going to release their new album "Shame of A Nation" in spring 2009.
